schweet_heart is offering:

Organizations this auction benefits: Disability Law United *, Environmental Integrity Project, Freedom to Read Foundation *, Global Project Against Hate and Extremism *, Never Again Action, News Literacy Project * (See full list. * denotes an organization that accepts international donations.)

Type of fanwork: Fan art
Subtype(s): Book cover, Drawing/painting/etc.
Fandom(s): Merlin; Biggles Series — W. E. Johns; Any fandom I've created for before
Highest rating: M
Minimum Bid: $25
Audience: 18+ only
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Genderswap/genderbending, Poly ships, Rarepairs

Fanwork Details:
I tend to prefer single character portraits or pairings, so if you have something with an ensemble cast (over 4 characters) or a complex background in mind please talk it over with me first. Shippy art is welcome but nothing explicit please. Can also create cover art/scene dividers/illustrations for a particular scene or fic (yours or someone else's, with their permission).

Characters/pairings of interest:
GEN ART: Any character(s) from any of the fandoms I've posted fanworks for on AO3 (see my profile for a full list), with the exception of those in my DNW list.

SHIPPY ART: Particular preference for Merthur (Merlin), Buddie (911), McSpirk (Star Trek), 00Q (Bond), Wangxian (The Untamed), Iron Husbands or Stony (Avengers), but will also draw for other pairings in those fandoms provided they don't include one of those characters (e.g. I will draw Henren but not Buck/Tommy). Otherwise, I'm open to most types of ships (m/m, f/f, m/f, poly, rarepair etc.) provided they don't conflict with my DNWs. If in doubt, please ask!

OTHER: There are loads of fandoms I love that I have not yet created for, so if you have one in mind that isn't on my AO3, please reach out to see if it might be an option!

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I particularly enjoy illustrating fanfics and/or creating shippy art, but am open to other prompts and ideas as well. Favourite subjects, themes and tropes include: fluff, hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending, historical/period AUs, Western AUs, supernatural/fantasy AUs and magical realism.

Unwilling to address:
I will not draw reader inserts or OCs, actors or characters under 18, graphic violence/gore/body horror, major character death or terminal illness, pregnancy, incestuous romantic pairings (e.g. Holmes/Mycroft), romantic pairings with unequal power dynamics (e.g. Hawkeye/Radar), explicit sex scenes or kink. If you are interested in art for a fic that involves any of these elements, please check in with me first to discuss, even if they don't appear in the scene you want me to draw. I am also no longer creating for Good Omens, Dead Boy Detectives, BBC Sherlock or any of J K Rowling's works.

Other notes:
I usually need at least a basic idea of what you're looking for before I can get started. If you're not entirely sure what you want the art to look like, that's fine—I'm happy to brainstorm with you to decide on a specific scene or reference pose, or you can just give me a general prompt (e.g. domestic Merthur) and let me run wild.

If you do have something specific in mind, please feel free to share, but do be aware that there may be limitations as to what I feel able to draw. For fandoms not primarily based on visual media (e.g. Biggles), I'd love it if you could share a pic or fancast of the character(s) so that I can get a better idea of how you see them. For fandoms with multiple iterations (e.g. Star Trek), please let me know which version of the character(s) you would like me to use before I start.

Once we have the details sorted, I'm happy to keep you updated with WIP pics as I go or to surprise you with the finished piece once it's done—just let me know which you prefer!

Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing, Specialist expertise
Fandom(s): Merlin; Biggles Series — W. E. Johns
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: 18+ only
Length/scope: 500 words per $1 bid.

Fanwork Details:
As a beta, I'm open to helping with anything from SPaG to story flow, characterisation, world-building, consistency and plot. In addition, I'm offering to cheerlead or alpha read as required, and have some (slightly rusty) skills in Latin and Old English if you need help to translate short pieces for spells or other purposes.

Relevant experience/background:
I've been a writing tutor for 10 years and am accustomed to working with ESOL students. I am a native English speaker and have also studied Latin and Old English at university level.

Additional notes about labor offered:
I'm usually a pretty quick reader, but turnaround time will depend on how busy I am and the length of the fic(s) involved, so please discuss it with me first if you have a specific deadline in mind, or if your fic is unfinished and you're not sure about the total word count.

My preference is to work in Google Docs, but I can probably accommodate most file types except for pdf. You're welcome to ask me to beta a whole fic, a specific chapter or chapters of a fic, or to break up the word count across multiple short fics, within reason (I can't cope with a hundred 100-word drabbles, but a couple of 2.5k one-shots is fine!). In general, my preference is for finished or nearly-finished drafts over WIPs, as I'm better able to get a feel for the flow of the story when I read it all at once.

Characters/pairings of interest:
MERLIN: Only interested in Merthur (Merlin/Arthur) as the primary ship or endgame, though romance need not be the main focus of the story. Any secondary/side ships are fine.

BIGGLES: Anything goes!

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Particular favourites include mistaken for dead, hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending, time travel fics, historical/period AUs, fantasy/supernatural AUs, crossovers and fusions.

Unwilling to address:
MERLIN: Prefer not to beta gen fic or established relationship fic.

BIGGLES: Prefer not to beta Algy/Ginger fics.

GENERAL: Will not beta character bashing, hurt/no comfort, pregnancy or kid fic, fics involving terminal illness, permanent major character death (temporary is fine), underage sex, incest, non-con or sexual violence, child abuse, gore/body horror, bestiality, anything related to cruelty to animals or animal death.

Please discuss before bidding if your fic contains dub-con or unequal power dynamics, graphic violence (beyond canon-typical levels), infidelity, BDSM or other kinks, dystopian/apocalyptic settings (including pandemic fic), or has an unhappy ending.

Other notes:
I'm happy to tailor my level of feedback to your preferences—in general, I tend to leave reaction emojis/comments in addition to editing, but if you'd prefer I stick to just suggestions, that's fine too. Likewise, if there's an element you particularly want feedback on (either exclusively or in addition to everything else), or you'd like me to explain (or stop explaining) my suggestions in more detail, just let me know. Ultimately, it's your story; my job is to help you polish it as best I can while preserving your personal voice and style, so you're welcome to reject/ignore my comments as you choose.
